Tactics and Leadership you have to have your companion lead a party, Trade you have to have the companion lead a caravan. Roguery, I think, is gained by having a companion lead bandit troops. A big caravan with lots of bandit troops might get your companion all 4. IMO Roguery is an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥ to get though.

From what I understand from watching a couple of vids, trade skill is the least important thing for caravan leaders. It barely affects the profit. Scouting and Riding are way more important. So at this stage, there is pretty much no reason to have a companion with Trade by the looks.

To start a caravan in Bannerlord, all you need to do is head into a town and talk to one of the notables that aren’t an outlaw. Many players tend to rush to the mid-game of vassalage and fiefdom. Caravans are best used early game, before vassalage.
